Where can we file an international trademark application?
Our request for international trademark protection could be registered in EUIPO if we already have it in EU or at least submitted application. Official language is English or French.
What is the advantage of international trademark?
By one application we can do submission at any Member state that signed the Convention, so that we can easier and at lower price do registration of our trademark in that countries.
Lasting of process
After submission of application, institutions of listed countries can provide objections in 12 months period or in some countries during 18-months period.
We can expect even objection
After trademark submission, it can happen that we receive objection to our submission. If it happens, we have the right to give a statement, explain our attitude and support it by evidencies. If objection did not happen or it is denied, registration or finalization can start.
Processing trademark includes also tracking of the issue if somebody applied for trademark protection that is identical or similar to ours. Continuous tracking of that request requires serious support and we offer it as part of special service.
What international trademark protection provide in return?
Significant cost reduction of registration and maintanance fee and bigger territory protection. Administration is in any case much simplier if we can manage our trademarks among so many nations on such a big area. In international system there is unlimited possibility of trademark expansion to additional countries, in alliance with our company market.
How much does this cost?
We need to pay fee for submission to National institution for intellectual property. To International institution international fee should be payed in the amount of 653 CHF (for black & white) and 903 CHF (for color). Certain countries can set up its unique tariff that could be different than this one.
